Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information Kaleido Studios collects through this website, why, and what we do with it. "We" means Kaleido Studios Limited, trading as Kaleido Studios, based in Auckland, New Zealand. We follow the Privacy Act 2020.
What we collect
When you fill in a form. Our quote builder and contact form ask for your name, email, and optionally your phone number, event date and anything else you want to tell us. We use this to reply to you, prepare a quote and, if you book, run the job.
When you browse the site. Like most websites, we collect information about how people use it: pages visited, how long you stayed, what you clicked, roughly where you are (city level), and your device and browser. We use this to work out what's useful, what's confusing and whether our advertising is working.
We don't collect payment card details through this website.
Tools we use
We use a few third-party services to run the site. Each one handles information under its own privacy policy.
Squarespace hosts the website.
Formspark receives and delivers form submissions to us.
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics measure how the site is used.
Google Ads shows our ads and tells us which ones lead to enquiries. When you submit a form, we send Google a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address and phone number. Google uses this to match the enquiry to an ad click. It can't read the original details from the hashed version.
Microsoft Clarity records anonymised sessions and heatmaps showing how people scroll and click, so we can spot problems with the site. It hides what you type into forms.
Vimeo hosts some of the videos on the site.
These providers are based overseas, mostly in the United States, so your information may be stored or processed outside New Zealand.
Cookies
These tools use cookies and similar technology to recognise repeat visits and measure ad results. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Photos and video from events
If you appear in photos or video we take at an event, we're working for the organiser or brand who booked us. They decide how the images are used. If you'd like an image of you removed from our own website or social media, email us and we'll take it down.
How long we keep it
If you enquire and don't book, we keep your details for up to 2 years in case you come back to us, then delete them. If you book, we keep your details and project records for as long as we need to for tax and business records (generally 7 years in New Zealand).
Who we share it with
Only the service providers listed above, and anyone we're required to share it with by law. We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email hello@kaleidostudios.co.nz and we'll respond within 20 working days, usually much sooner.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and we'll try to fix it. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
